Paya Tabletop 00 Trains


Paya is probably the best known Spanish toy manufacturer. The company was created in 1905 in the city of Ibi in the province of Alicante.

The first trains with a clockwork motor and running on tracks appear in the 1923 catalogue, and a reproduction of that page of the catalogue can be seen in the picture above.

PAYA ist der wohl bekannteste spanische Spielzeughersteller. Das Unternehmen wurde 1905 in der Stadt Ibi / Provinz Alicante gegründet.

Die erste Spielzeugeisenbahn von Paya mit Uhrwerksantrieb und Blechschienen erschien im Katalog des Jahres 1923. Das Bild zeigt eine Reproduktion der Katalogseite.


The Trains are of the type generally called Tabletop 00 gauge and are similar to the ones that were also by this time starting its production in Germany. In the picture such a set (Nr. 874) can be seen.
